SFReader is pleased to announce our 7th Annual (2008) SFReader Short Story Contest!
SFReader has established itself as one of the Internet's most popular communities for speculative fiction fans, hosting over 15,000 visitors each month, be it to browse the reviews, read the articles and interviews, or participate in SFReader's Discussion Forum. SFReader also offers free web pages for writers and fans of speculative fiction.
The 7th Annual Short Story contest opens to submissions on December 1st, 2008, and will remain open until midnight December 31st, 2008.
Entries received before December 1st, 2008, or after midnight December 31st, 2008, will not be considered!
Newest, biggest rule!
In order for your story to be considered in the contest, you must:
Write 1 review of a book on SFReader's review list
or
Write 2 reviews of speculative fiction books NOT on SFReader's review list
All reviews must meet SFReader standards. Read a few of our reviews and check out our Review Guidelines for more information.
Once you submit your review(s), you can enter as many stories as you want without having to do additional reviews.
NEW!I've heard some complaints about the review requirement. Bottom line is SFReader is a review site and being asked to review a book or two for a chance to win up to $300 seems like a pretty good deal to me. But if you absolutely, positively don't want to or can't write a review (or reviews) you can PaylPal me $10 (which will go to help support the site) to enter the contest. If you're interested in that option, let me know at
Other than this new requirement, the same rules (see below) from our previous contests still apply.
